We all know this place has not been perfect and the history of our country is far from a fairytale. There’s no shortage of injustice, of cruelty, suffering or inequality in our history or our present. It is our job, however, to create our future.
I call on every one of us to be reminded of our connectedness, of our similarities over our differences, of how far we can go if we come together in peace, in love, in humanity.
